The Libertine

Such a beautiful setting for an amazing meal! I am in the financial district of London for meetings and happened to find a local spot doing Sunday Roast…and they are doing it perfectly. The location is incredible (it is actually in the Royal Exchange building), the staff were so courteous and professional and the food – outstanding. I would highly recommend reservations. I was solo and even had fo wait (not long but make note). I am going back later this week for cocktails in the bar area. This is a must do.

Food was delicious and atmosphere nice as it was such a cute and chic location. Whilst the manager was great and very helpful and supportive of dietary requirements (gluten and dairy free) offering better options, the waitress was dreadful. I waited 45mins for a glass of champagne that came during my mains (hadn’t wanted it after that wait) and it was obviously forgotten as our other drinks came prior even though they took a while. I asked for the bill as we needed to leave to be somewhere else for another reservation, she stood next to the till chatting to other staff and my partner then asked for the bill 10mins later and she immediately went back and got it, obviously forgotten that too. Wouldn’t go back

I visited the restaurant for my late birthday celebration. Portion sizes were massive. We had burger and fish and chips. The burger was juicy and full of flavor. The fish and chips were not dry. Prices are reasonable too for this setting. I wasn’t expecting for them to treat my dessert, it was very thoughtful. Thank you.

We were slightly nervous when we first walked into the bar, at it was pretty busy and loud – but were glad to hear that the restaurant was in a separate section that was much quieter, but also had a great vibe to it. The food was incredible and great value, they made personalised cocktails to our liking, and our server Ailish was incredible. She had great energy, provided incredible service and made the evening more special. Thank you :)

An interesting experience in a cool vault location. We had booked a table in the bar but upon arrival the door person seemed surprised that we had booked and told us to sit anywhere. It was surprisingly busy for a Monday. No table service so we ordered cocktails at the bar and had to explain a couple that were not part of their recommended menu. Drinks were tasty and made well but little friendly or positive vibe from the staff, merely a functional job done. Our group had a good time but that would be in spite of a very average customer service experience. Kitchen shut at 9pm FYI as we had hoped to get some small plates at the bar but were denied!
